What is multiple participation?
Multiple participation makes it possible to be a member of several energy communities. This allows participants to manage their electricity supply more efficiently and increase their influence on the energy transition. This means that you are no longer limited to the energy supply from a single community, but can individually compile your electricity mix from various local, regional and nationwide energy communities (both GEAs, EEGs and BEGs).

Available to All: All types of participants (full feeders, surplus feeders, consumers) and all forms of energy communities (GEA, EEG, BEG) can use multiple participation.

Limit of Participation: Participation is limited to a maximum of 5 energy communities simultaneously.

Participation Factor: Multiple participation is managed through the participation factor, with the total sum of participation factors not exceeding 100%.

Updates: The participation factor can be adjusted up to once per day.
Responsibility: Only the energy community itself can make changes to the participation factor.

Dynamic Allocation: The participation factor can be used to manage high consumers, making dynamic allocation within the community more attractive. This means the participation factor can also be applied within a single energy community to regulate large feeders or consumers.
Participation factor
The participation factor indicates the percentage of your consumption or generation that you participate in an energy community with. The sum of the participation factors may not exceed 100%. Changes to the participation factor can only be made once a day and only by the energy community itself.

Membership: You must be an official member of all energy communities (e.g., association member, cooperative member).

Approval: Participation in each energy community must be confirmed separately in your network operator's customer portal.

Communication: Changes to the participation factor can only be made by the energy community, not by individual members. If you want to join a second energy community, you need to communicate this to your current energy community first and specify the participation factor you wish to have.
